About

Blue Loop is a London-based producer, creating electronic music from analogue synths and found sound.

Following a series of live shows honing her sound in London, Reykjavik and Berlin throughout 2019/20, she released her debut EP Grand Illusion in December 2020: five tracks that meet at the intersection of ambient techno, IDM and progressive electronic. Her music treads a fine line between warm analogue synths and glacial drums, organic samples and artificial soundscapes, soft textures and harsh realities: swirling, atmospheric tracks reminiscent of everything from Tangerine Dream to Boards of Canada, Kelly Lee Owens, Elysia Crampton and Throwing Snow (who she counts among her fans).

New release, double A side Kodama / Pan, marks an exciting progression in Blue Loop’s output. Together, the two tracks explore dualities experience during the Covid winter lockdown – of light and dark, motion and stillness, tension and release. With Pan, Blue Loop steps boldly into a jungle/DnB sound, with intricate, high octane beats and expansive synths, whilst Kodama fuses ambient electronic with orchestral clarinet improvisations by folk musician Rose Ford.

A passionate advocate of women’s and other underrepresented voices in music, Blue Loop is also closely involved in the Girls Rock London initiative and the 2% Rising community of women and gender minority producers.
